Ships [Guide]

One of the major types of transportation is using a ship. The vast sea connects all three continents together, and must be crossed for greater rewards when trading. The sea is also a popular spot for pirates that may be roaming with the intent of stealing supplies. To cross the sea, you can build ships which will allow you to travel faster. Some of these ships even have added bonuses that will come in handy when under attack.

Building a Ship
To build a ship you will need to purchase the blueprints from Mirage Isle. There are two areas from where to buy the blueprints for the Nuian or Haranya style.
Mirage_island-ship_designs.jpg

Note: Only the Ezran Cutter has two different styles, but both are available to all players.

Building the platform
One you have bought the blueprints, you will need to collect the materials listed to create the building platform for the ship. This varies per ship, so be sure to check the blueprint for what is needed. If you have the required materials, find a suitable area in the sea and click the blueprints in your inventory to place the platform. Once placed, the platform will have protection for three days. If you have not completed the ship before this time, then any other adventurer may attack and destroy the platform and whatever progress you have made on the ship will be lost.

Creating the Ship
The platform works like the construction area when building a house; you will need to transport the material bundles from a nearby crafting area to the platform. Transporting these material bundles works the same way as carrying a trade package. You may only carry one at a time, and it will reduce your movement speed. Upon reaching the platform, you will consume LP when adding the bundle to the platform. Also, like houses, any player can help to build the ship so long as they are carrying the correct bundle. Once completed, the owner of the blueprint can claim the ship, which becomes a summon item.

Repairing a Ship
If your ship is destroyed, you won't have to completely rebuild it. Instead, there is a special item that can be crafted which will repair your ship. There are three different size hourglasses used to repair; the type you need will depend on the ship type.
  • Shatigon's Sanglass: Pinch - Used to repair: Rowboat
  • Shatigon's Sandglass: Spoonful - Used to repair: Harpoon Clipper, Fish-Find Longliner'
  • Shatigon's Sanglass: Handful - Used to repair: Eznan Cutter, Merchant Ship
Pinch Sandglass can be bought at General Merchant store. Other two can be crafted (Alchemy>Talismans) it requires 10,000 and 20,000 profficiency to be able to craft them.

Rowboat
Rowboat.jpg

Ship Name: Rowboat
Top Speed: 4.0 m/s
Blueprint Cost: N/A. Quest reward.
Construction Materials: N/A
Ship Features: Can seat one other person only
The rowboat is the first ship that every adventurer acquires if they follow the starting area quests. It can be obtained very early on and provides a small increase in speed while in the water.
It can also seat one other person, which may come in handy if under attack.

How to Obtain a Rowboat
The Eastern faction of Firran and Haranya will receive a rowboat in the Mahadevi area. Near the docks, there is a boatman who will give the quest "Your Own Boat". You may then pick up a rowboat which binds to your character.

For both the Nuians and Elves of the Western faction, the rowboat is free from a quest at the Crescent Throne docks. It is also available at any materials vendor for 10 Silver.

  • 20 x Trade Package slots - This is the real strength of the merchant ship. It is able to securely carry 20 trade packages which are only accessible by the ship owner.
  • Sextant - This can be used to show any ships in the surrounding area of 800 m. When a player is using this, a ring will show around the ship on their map, which details ship names, guild and health when in that range. Basically a radar.
